The UK UFO Database is an independent, grass-roots research project created to document, organise and preserve modern-day reported UFO sightings from across the United Kingdom.
The aim is simple: to make sighting data easier to explore.
Rather than leaving reports scattered across websites, social media posts, forums and individual case files, the database brings them together in one searchable archive. Each report is presented in a consistent format, allowing visitors to explore sightings by date, location, object shape, evidence and other recorded details.
Independent UFO Research
The UK UFO Database is developed and maintained by UFO Identified, an independent UK-based research project investigating and documenting UFO and UAP reports.
Why We Built It
Thousands of UFO sightings are reported across the UK, but finding and comparing those reports can be surprisingly difficult.
Information is often spread across multiple sources, recorded in different formats or eventually lost as websites and online platforms change.
The UK UFO Database was created to provide a central, accessible record of those cases.
By organising sightings into a structured database, we can begin to look beyond individual reports and explore the wider picture — where sightings occur, when they happen, what witnesses describe and whether patterns emerge over time.

Visitors can currently:

A dedicated statistics and analysis section is also being developed, which will provide deeper insight into patterns and trends within the database.
Our Approach
The inclusion of a report in the database does not mean that UFO Identified considers the sighting to be extraterrestrial, unexplained or verified.
The database records what was reported.
Where possible, information is preserved in a neutral and consistent format so that researchers, witnesses and members of the public can examine the material for themselves.
Some cases may ultimately have conventional explanations. Others may remain unresolved.
The purpose of the database is not to tell visitors what to believe, but to preserve the reports and make the information easier to investigate.
The Database Is Growing
The database will continue to expand as additional years, historical reports and new sightings are added.
New tools and features are also planned, including interactive statistics, deeper geographical analysis and additional ways to compare sightings across the UK.
