We are here, cap in hand… only joking!
For real though, we are a grassroots, community-focused group led by a small team of volunteers who give many, many hours as well as money from our own pocket to fund UFO Identified. This includes the website hosting, domains, monthly events, talks, conferences, sky watches (which always include hot food and drink!) and much more.
We are not a large organisation with the backing of huge names in the UFO field or have a board of investors behind us, like similar groups and databases do.
For a long time we had no paywall and everything was purely for the love of the topic and wanting to get as much information out there as possible. That love is still there, however the costs over the past 6 years have just been increasing year-on-year. It was not a small decision to make our database a members-only thing, but I personally could not afford to keep paying all these costs, nor expect the core team of UFO Identified to either.
We are a 100% UK-dedicated website, with thousands of sightings to explore with a fully interactive map and fully searchable ever-growing database, with every sighting having its own dedicated page with even more features to assist in any research project. We are also very available as a team to help with any questions or for further information on each case. We also have lots of things in the pipeline to improve the database – of which memberships will massively help us!
For just £2.50 a month or £25 a year we feel is very fair.

In 2023 I released my first book in the series of UK UFO Sightings, covering the years 2020-2022. The next addition to this series is coming later this year which will cover the years 2023-2025. Each edition contains over 100 new and recent UFO sightings reported directly to UFO Identified for the years featured – so these are recent cases that you are unlikely to have heard of before, and as told from the witness!
